You don't see these often and the return of the Adidas SL76 trainers like a special edition is unlikely to change that.

When it comes to the 'SL', the 1972 version of the shoe may be the one that's seen usually. I featured that the short time back, mentioning these were the footwear preferred by Starksy of Starsky and Hutch fame in the 1970s.

But were they? I'm pretty sure which was the situation although some people believe that the later SL76 was his shoe, that was a design more contemporary to the show. As I said, I still believe that was the SL72.

Not it matters. The SL76 looks great, particularly in this reissued green and yellow, which is exclusive to the Size? website. I would have said shops too, but as they're closed this will be a strictly online affair when it lands.

As for that design, this was the 2nd SL ('super light') shoe and a step-up in the original, offering a mix of lightweight nylon and supportive suede overlays for that upper, adding in the Adidas ghilly-loop lacing system to keep things secure in your feet. When it comes to sole, it features a streamlined EVA midsole along with a rubber toe-bumper to avoid any scuffing towards the suede toe panels. Note also the serrated rubber outsole for plenty of grip when you're out and about.

Look out with this one from Saturday 2nd May, priced at lb75 traded in both men's and women's sizes, that is nice to see.

Update: These sold-out ridiculously quickly, but there are plenty of pairs on the market on eBay at this time.
