Available these days: 1950s Puma Oslo-City trainers

You could be forgiven for thinking City Series is definitely an Adidas thing. However the 1950s Puma Oslo-City trainers proves it isn't.

Puma was carrying this out thing long before Adidas and does occasionally bring its classics back. The one thing with Puma is that those reissues tend to sneak out without the fanfare from the big Adidas releases. Therefore it is super easy to overlook them.

The other issue is that the shoes don't necessarily hit UK retailers either. This one is really a just to illustrate, only being offered in German stores as far as I can tell. But around the plus side, they are doing tend to ship internationally also it adds to the exclusivity of the shoes in your feet. Always a selling point. Although postage does get pushed pub just a little.

Anyway, if you want a pair, I think you won't be too bothered about a little extra around the postage and when you love a classic trainer, you may well want a pair of these.

Amazingly the Oslo goes back as far as 1952 if this was produced to coincide with the 1952 Olympics in Norway. So almost 70 years old that one. Not too it appears particularly vintage.
This OG shoe has a premium white leather upper with 'smooth' black suede overlays along with a gum outsole underneath. Perhaps that simplicity is the reason why this shoe has aged so well. Finishing things off may be the name of the shoe in gold on the side.

So, the price. if you prefer a pair of the Oslo reissue you are looking at EUR109.95, which is something like lb98. Presumably a restricted edition too, but not to the point of an immediate sellout thankfully.
