You can't move for Gazelles nowadays. However the 1971 Adidas Gazelle trainers<\/strong> offer something a little different.<\/p>\n

Currently, limited to the state Adidas store at this time and on the face of it, there isn't a huge amount of distinction between these and people other Gazelles towards the 'untrained' eye.<\/p>\n

The difference is only evident if you know things to look for. And collectors often will spot those straight away.<\/p>\n

The difference is that this is a shoe in line with the 1971 silhouette rather than the modern-day shape. In the past years Adidas was big on the 1980s style of the shoe. This time it's gone back a decade further and simplifying things a little more.<\/p>\n

1971 is a significant year for the Gazelle (and other shoes) as it was the prior year Adidas went for its now-famous Trefoil logo around the heel, that was introduced in 1972. Therefore the reissue here, in addition to being a rather different shape, also omits that logo too.<\/p>\n

But after the day, this really is still a Gazelle and has most of the other details that have made this shoe a constant favourite within the Adidas range. So a suede upper, contrast detailing for that heel and also the stripes, the gum sole and the Adidas-branded tongue, Gazelle branding to the side too, naturally.<\/p>\n

This is not a range whatsoever. It's one reissue. So only the blue and white available for sale and just directly from Adidas.<\/p>\n
